Suite of Sweet Bowls

I am a great fan of Patrick Caulfield. I love the way he transformed ordinary objects through bold black outlines, simple shapes and wonderful areas of flat, vibrant colour.

Caulfield created his Sweet Bowl in 1967, and I painted my original blue version around 2017. I had been looking at it on my wall for years when I suddenly thought: how about painting the same bowl in different colours, while keeping that same sense of Caulfield wonderment? Like Warhol did with Campbells Soup and Monroe

And here it is—or rather, here they are! Four sweet bowls in blue, green, yellow and orange, each with its own character but clearly belonging to the same family.

I am selling them as a quartet. Displayed together, they look brilliant on the wall—bold, cheerful and, I think, oh so unique.
